Students who earn their graduate degrees at the University of Maryland are prepared to assume faculty positions at colleges and universities and are ready to secure positions in industry, public service, and other professions. Since 2004, 80% of UM Department of Communication Ph.D. recipients have secured tenure-track positions at the college/university level. Rowena Briones will be an assistant professor in the School of Mass Communications at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
Theresa Donofrio will be an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Leysan Khakimova will be an assistant professor at Zayed University, Dubai, U.A.E.
Tiffany Lewis will be an assistant professor in the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College, CUNY, New York, NY.
Adam Richards will be an assistant professor in the College of Communication at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX.
Alyssa Samek will be a visiting assistant professor of rhetoric in the Department for the Study of Culture & Society at Drake University in Des Moines, IA.
