Department of Communiction Presents 15th Annual Grunig Lecture

University of Houston Professor and UMD Ph.D. COMM alumni, Dr. Lan Ni presented her research and findings.

On Thursday, March 9th the Department of Communication held its 15th Annual Grunig Lecture. University of Houston Professor and UMD Ph.D. COMM alumni, Dr. Lan Ni presented her research and findings in her “Symmetrical Communication in a Divided World: Theory and Practice of Intercultural Public Relations” lecture. Dr. Ni was presented with the Grunig Alumni Excellence Award for her contributions to the field of Public Relations.

To wrap up the evening, The Toth Outstanding PR Student Award was presented to senior Brooke Ivler. Named in honor of Richard and Elizabeth Toth, the award is given to a student who has demonstrated academic excellence, leadership in PR, contributions to the PR track, and professional excellence
