Terps Participate in 2016 Public Address Conference
Department of Communication faculty members and Ph.D. alumni participated in the 15th Biennial Public Address Conference, hosted September 29-October 1 by Syracuse University's Department of Communication & Rhetorical Studies. The theme for this year's conference is “The Conceit of Context.”
Participating Terps (below from left to right) include Professor & Chair Shawn J. Parry-Giles who is chairing Plenary Session #1 and Associate Professor Damien Smith Pfister who is a featured respondent for Plenary Session #2. Ph.D. alumnus Jason Edward Black, now the chair of the Department of Communication at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, will chair Plenary Session #6 and Ph.D. alumnus Timothy Barney, now on the faculty at the University of Richmond, is a featured respondent for Plenary Session #8. Other Terps are attending the conference as well.
The University of Maryland's Department of Communication hosted the 9th Biennial Public Address Conference in 2004.
